Ilona Horgen

Ilona Horgen was raised by parents who instilled in their children the value of education. She completed a Masters of Public Health degree from the University of Toronto and continued to work in Toronto in the non-profit sector, including the Canadian Dietetic Society and the Alzheimer's Society of Canada. Ilona and husband, Paul, retired to the Comox Valley in 2005 where she has been an active member of Probus, Red Cross Society of Canada, Transition Society and an advocate for lifelong learning through ElderCollege, a program of North Island College. Ilona has served on the management committee of ElderCollege for the past seven years. In her leisure time, you will find Ilona on the tennis courts or kayaking around the estuary.
