Helena Friesen immigrated to Canada when she was five years old with her family and moved to Campbell River from the Lower Mainland. Helena works primarily as a courtroom lawyer in the areas of litigation, family law and criminal law and has appeared before the Supreme Court of British Columbia and the Provincial Court of British Columbia. She worked for many years as an outreach support worker in Vancouver and is passionate about supporting students to achieve their education goals. As a law school student who received two generous scholarships, she knows the impact it has on someone’s educational career and understands the importance of effective fundraising and working with donors. Helena brings her experience working for non-profits in Vancouver to her role as a Foundation Board Director.
