Planned Giving

In Honour and Memoriam NIC students were named among four grateful beneficiaries in Catherine Mary (Mamie) Aitken's $6-million bequest to the Comox Valley Community Foundation.

Planned gifts have an enormous and lasting impact on North Island College, creating a legacy for students and NIC communities that lasts for generations.

Planned gifts also form part of an overall financial plan that can provide individuals – at any level of wealth – with significant benefits. For example, planned gifts can help you maintain control of your assets during your lifetime, take advantage of a number of tax benefits, leave a legacy at North Island College, and possibly even provide income to yourself or others during your or their lifetime.

There are many different forms your gift can take depending on your goal, including:

  • Adding a bequest to your will and donating your full or partial estate to the NIC Foundation.
  • Adding NIC Foundation as a beneficiary to the residual of your retirement plan or life insurance policy.
  • Creating a charitable gift annuity that will provide you with income during your lifetime and then pass on to the NIC Foundation.
Whatever your passion, you can designate your planned gift to support the NIC program, campus or project of your choice. Contact us any time to discuss your wishes.
